United Way of Blount County’s Campaign Kickoff has always been a time when the community comes together. We celebrate the beginning of the campaign and motivate the community to make Blount County a better place for everyone. This year will be no different (although it will look a little different)!
Kindness for Kickoff, presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners, will be Friday, August 28th from 8 a.m. to noon. During this time, we encourage everyone to either donate supplies or volunteer for community projects. We surveyed our partner agencies and made a list of supplies and projects needed in our community.
Supplies vary from individually wrapped snacks to face masks to the highly-coveted toilet paper. You will bring your supplies from 8 a.m. to noon on August 28th to the parking lot of High Praises Church, located adjacent to the United Way of Blount County building. All volunteer projects allow for social distancing, such as landscaping at a local nonprofit or becoming a penpal with an isolated senior. You will sign up for volunteer projects using SignUpGenius
here. See below for the Kindness for Kickoff flyer.
Whether you choose to donate supplies or volunteer your time, come by the High Praises Church parking lot near United Way’s office to take a picture and celebrate your act of kindness — all from the comfort of your car! 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone. Our goal is that August 28th will be a positive day where community members can feel safe while making Blount County a better place, all while kicking off the 2020 campaign. Let’s spread kindness for kickoff this 2020!
United, We Recover.
