United Way of Blount County Announces 2026 Community Grants Totaling $1,406,362.40

Blount County, TN — The United Way of Blount County (UWBC) is proud to announce that $1,406,362.40 will be awarded to 26 local nonprofit organizations in 2026.

Each year, UWBC brings together over 80 trained community volunteers who review detailed funding applications submitted by partner agencies, evaluate programs based on demonstrated outcomes, financial stewardship, and alignment with identified community needs. Volunteers participate in panel discussions and site visits to ensure a thorough and equitable review.

Recommendations are then carefully considered and approved by the organization’s Board of Directors, ensuring donor dollars are invested strategically and transparently in programs that deliver measurable impact across Blount County.

These funds go directly back into our community to support Blount County’s most vulnerable neighbors — strengthening families, expanding access to essential services, and building pathways to stability and opportunity for those who need it most.

“I am so proud of UWBC’s process to award grants to local nonprofits,” UWBC’s Director of Community Impact Sarah Jurinksy said. “Donors sacrifice their hard-earned dollars, and volunteers spend their valuable time ensuring that every single dollar is making an impact.

“I am thankful for every donor, volunteer, and nonprofit committed to making Blount County a stronger, healthier, and more accessible community for the benefit of all.” For more information about United Way of Blount County, email uwbc@unitedwayblount.org, call 865-982-2251 or visit www.unitedwayblount.org.
